The YG1 86584TC solid carbide finishing end mill offers excellent rigidity and precision for steel finishing tasks, featuring a 3/8″ diameter and a 1″ length of cut. Its 5-flute design with a 45° helix angle and TiCN coating delivers superior surface finish and efficient chip evacuation in low carbon steels such as 1018 and A36, matching recommended finishing application parameters. The tools single-end and center cutting geometry enable plunge cutting and versatile tool paths with controlled chip load. By reducing vibration and enhancing chip flow, this tool improves finish quality during finishing passes. The TiCN coating enhances wear resistance and minimizes built-up edge, especially in steels and compatible materials including non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and cast iron. The absence of a corner radius concentrates cutting forces on sharp edges, necessitating careful feed control to prevent chipping. Avoid using this end mill on heat-resistant superalloys (HRSA ISO S) because the coating is not ideal.
