Applications

Engineered for detailed finishing operations, the YG1 85573TC end mill features a 1/4″ diameter, 3/8″ length of cut, and 5 flutes with a TiCN coating. Its 45° helix angle and higher flute count improve surface finish and chip evacuation in low carbon steel, adhering to recommended finishing combinations for 1018/A36 steel. The stub length enhances stability and reduces deflection during light radial stock removal. Equipped with TiCN coating, this tool offers smooth cutting and increased wear resistance, optimizing performance and tool life in steel applications. Its center cutting design enables plunge cutting, adding versatility for complex machining. Users should avoid employing this end mill on HRSA (ISO S) materials as the TiCN coating is not well matched and will deteriorate rapidly. Also, the lack of a corner radius means preventing edge chipping depends on correct feed rates and cutting conditions rather than geometry.
