Specially designed for non-ferrous materials, the YG1 55600TD 1″ Diameter, 3″ Length of Cut, 4 Flute Diamond Solid Carbide Finishing End Mill balances reach and rigidity with a 3.0x length-to-diameter ratio. The 30° helix angle combined with a diamond coating and four flutes enhances shearing and abrasion resistance, making it ideal for abrasive fiber composites including carbon and glass fiber. The diamond coating excels in preserving edge sharpness and reducing wear during profiling and trimming of composites. The four-flute configuration ensures smooth chip evacuation and maintains surface finish integrity. The absence of a corner radius promotes clean, sharp cuts without the common chipping issues found in radius tools. It is not recommended to use this end mill on steel, stainless steel, or cast iron since the diamond coating is poorly matched and will deteriorate rapidly. The tool is tailored for non-ferrous applications, particularly abrasive composites.
