Applications

This VNMG331-HA PC5300 insert supports cutting speeds from 98 to 574 sfm, feeds between 0.004 and 0.016 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.189 in. Its small 1/64″ nose radius is ideal for finishing to light semi-finishing operations, with recommended limits of ap0.059 in and fn0.006 in/rev for optimal edge life. Designed primarily for ISO P30-P40 steels and secondarily for M20-M30 stainless steels, this insert also suits K20-K25 cast iron and S15-S25 HRSA/titanium. Its negative rake and chipbreaker configuration favor general continuous cutting; interrupted cuts are not recommended due to limited suitability.
