Applications

The YG1 85573TN finishing end mill boasts a 1/4″ diameter, 3/8″ length of cut, and 5 flutes with a TiN coating, delivering exceptional rigidity and precision for steel finishing operations. Its 45° helix angle combined with a high flute count enhances chip evacuation and surface finish, notably in low carbon steels such as 1018 and A36. The stub length ensures excellent control and minimizes deflection during light radial stock removal. This tools TiN coating and geometry facilitate smooth cutting and improved wear resistance, making it suitable for secondary uses in non-ferrous, stainless steel, and cast iron materials. Its center cutting design supports plunge cutting and slotting with minimal risk of chipping. Avoid using this end mill on heat-resistant superalloys (HRSA ISO S) because the TiN coating is not ideal and will degrade rapidly.
